In "The Pearl" written by John Steinbeck was a okay book. It was definitely not a book I would read again.. For that reason I thought it was mostly boring. There was at least three scenes that were worth reading. It was well written and fun to read.
In the beginning, the first couple paragraphs were kind of not exciting. Then when I read the baby, Coyotito got bit my the scorpion, it got better. Sitting at home in my bed reading and wondering what is going to happen. Will the baby die? Then when the doctor said he wouldn’t help them because they were pore, I got even more frightened. I thought to my self "Will the baby die? Then will Kino seek revenge to the doctor that he wouldn't help his son?"
As in the beginning was good. I thought the end was pretty good to. When Kino received the gun from the bad guys… He was in the woods and he heard the bushes move around. He thought it was the bad guys when it was really his baby boy, . He Coyotito accidently shot his son in the head. It was sad but, I'm the kind of person that loves action. It was interesting to read.
If I was the author I would of made the book a little more interesting threw out the book. Some part was so boring I could of fell right asleep reading it. But, I do have t admit Kino finding the Pearl was kind of cool and I thought it was a good ending the her threw the pearl back in the ocean when his son Coyotito passed away.

Reflection
In the story “The Pearl” written by John Steinbeck, the main character Kino finds a magical pearl. This book was a bit confusing. The reason I think it was confusing is because it was written a while ago and some parts were very boring. Towards the end of the story I thought It was the most exciting. This book's plot line is tragedy.
During the story Kino makes a huge mistake. He lets the pearl control his life and try to ruin his families life. So the lesson of the story is t learn from your mistakes. Since the pearl was was so powerful and could do anything I think Kino loved the pearl? As much as family. But when it started to control him and his family. He knew it was time to let it go.
At the end of the book was really sad. Kino lost the most important thing in his life… His son. If I was the author I would have Kino throw the pearl back in the water where he found it I didn’t like how the baby died. It was to upsetting to read. Pretty much after I read that one sentence it was hard for me to keep reading. I didn’t want his wife to die to

So far in the book I think it is okay. I wouldn't read it again because I think the book so far is kinda boring.. There is some parts in the book where they get a little exciting but most of the time its hard to follow. I think if the author put better word choice and expanded out some parts of the book it be better.
